FORD’S new Focus might have already seen the light of day, but now that the car has been given its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show the Blue Oval has released more details on its family favourite. Aside from the enhanced exterior design, key to the car’s revamp is a new suite of in-car electronics to keep you safe and entertained. The main attraction is a new version of the car maker’s Sync 2 telematics system boasting intelligent sat-nav, advanced voice control, integrated music player features and an intuitive colour touchscreen.
New Subaru WRX revealed in LA
The new Subaru WRX – the one that may or may not come to the UK – has been revealed today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The WRX gets a new structure – and a four door saloon shape only – with a stiffer chassis, new electronic power steering and a new engine. The new engine in the WRX is a tweaked and fettled version of the 2.0 litre boxer engine from the Subaru Forseter, but in the WRX it gets 268bhp and 258lb/ft of torque, channelled through Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system to all four wheels, and enough to hit 60mph in 5.4 seconds
The new WRX gets a choice of a manual ‘box with permanent 4WD whilst the WRX with the optional CVT box comes with a transfer clutch to move torque between axles.
The 2014 Facleift for the Dacia Duster in Europe (*pictured) has been revealed
The UK hasn’t had the Dacia Duster for very long, mainly because it was selling so well in Europe Renault couldn’t manage to build right hand drive versions. And it looks like much the same scenario will play out with the Dacia Duster facelift – revealed today in full before Frankfurt – with it rolling out in Europe but with no immediate plans to bring it to the UK. But if you want a LHD, or you’re one of our European readers, then the Duster SUV titivations for 2014 – already previewed by a single photo – offers more glitzy version of the budget SUV, and a new engine.
